    Flinders explored the Furneaux Islands group twice: in February 1798 in the colonial schooner 'Francis' on a voyage to salvage cargo from the wrecked East Indiaman 'Sydney Cove' and then in October 1798 during his circumnavigation of Tasmania in the sloop 'Norfolk'.
