Ray Clarke was a member of the founding Committee, and later Secretary, of the Sydney Branch of the Socialist Party of Australia, established in December 1971. Clark was Secretary of the Wool & Basil Workers' Federation (N.S.W. Branch) at the time that he held the above offices.
