Filmmaker Ian Dunlop is interviewed by Betty Marshall about his life and works. Dunlop starts by discussing his early life, family and education.

MLOH 130/1 Side B (30 min.):
Ian Dunlop discusses his experiences of ethnographic filmmaking. Dunlop talks about his film projects focusing on indigenous Australians in Western Australia during the 1960's.

MLOH 130/2 Side A (30 min.):
Ian Dunlop discusses his work with the ABC film unit, documenting the traditional subsistence activities of the Pintupi people. He discusses his role in having historical film footage preserved and his involvement in ethnographic film festivals.

MLOH 130/2 Side B (30 min.):
Ian Dunlop discusses the documentation of traditional cultures and his desire to show the daily life and rituals of Aboriginal tribes.

MLOH 130/3 Side A (30 min.):
Ian Dunlop talks about filming indigenous people of Papua New Guinea, discussing the recording of rituals and ceremonies. Dunlop tells of audience reactions to screenings in London and Paris.

MLOH 130/3 Side B (25 min.):
Ian Dunlop discusses his film contribution to the Archives of the Australian Institute of Aboriginal Studies. Dunlop explores his collaboration on projects with anthropologists and linguists and speaks of future projects.
