  • General note

The photographer has recorded some of the smaller specialised one-person knitting mills that have sprung up in the suburbs, with the demise of major mills due to overseas competition and the removal of tariffs. The smaller mills are seen as more responsive to a changing fashion market. These photographs form an interesting addition to the images of outworkers by Emmanuel Angelicas and document the changes to an industry following tariff removal.
