  • Scope and Content
Rudi Krausmann notebook diaries, correspondence, photographs and printed material, ca. 1971-ca. 1999. The diaries consist of 27 closely written notebooks or various sizes. They include personal information and impressions, details of meetings with other poets and authors, and production notes about various Krausmann plays. The diaries commence at the front of each notebook, written in German, and drafts of poetry, written in both German and English, commence at the back of each notebook. When the diary entries from the front meet the poetry from the back, the volume closes and a new one commences. The correspondence comprises approximately 150 letters, ca. 1971-ca. 1999, mainly received by Krausmann, but also a sequence of letters between Krausmann and Don Maynard of Angus & Robertson. Correspondents include, Manning Clark, John Bell, Annette Macarthur Onslow (RESTRICTED), Krausmann family members, author Marele Day, poets John Tranter, Jennifer J. Rankin, prize winning Austrian poet Gerald Bisinger, Gerhard Amanshauser, German author Reiner Kunze, Austrian artist Gloria Zoitl, Polish born author and Australian migrant Liliana Rydzinski. The correspondence is written mainly in German or English, with some French. Also includes a copy of the 2nd edition of Poems, 1993, with illustrations by Garry Shead.
