  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    May Pollard, was born in 1868 at Launceston, Tasmania. She was the daughter of James Joseph Pollard founder of 'Pollard's Liliputian Opera Company', a children's opera company mainly made up of Pollard's own large family. May Pollard toured New Zealand and India with Pollard's Junior Opera Company and at the age of fifteen joined J. C. Williamson. She later played in London. May Pollard died in 1970.
