    John Sondermeyer migrated from Holland in 1958 and commenced business as a monument mason at Richmond, NSW in 1959. His company J.H. Sondermeyer & Co Pty Ltd, later controlled by his son Cornelis (Con), was responsible for several restoration projects at historical cemeteries in the Richmond District.
