    Victor Michael Kitchener Kelleher was born in London and completed his university education in South Africa. He moved to Australia in 1976 and was Associate Professor of English at the University of New England, and at the University of New South Wales. He is now a full-time writer.

    Kelleher's first book, Voices from the River, was published in 1979. Since then he has written over twenty-five novels for adult, children and teenage readers.

    Literary papers relating to twenty-six novels (published between 1979-1999), an anthology of three stories (1976), and short stories by Victor Kelleher.
