  Martens' Account book (Dixson Library ref. ZDL MS 142) lists on 26 Sept. 1836 'Sydney from Sandy Bay W. [Alexander Walker] Scott Esq. 6.6.0'.
  Related pencil drawings (rocks and trees, centre right in watercolour): 'View in the Harbour of Port Jackson', title lower right, 19 x 28.3 cm, inscribed in another hand (R.T. Carter?) along lower edge "I think this Wo[o]llahra Point Piper", bequeathed by Sir William Dixson, 1952, ZDL PX 24, f. 23; (rocks and bushes, centre left), no title, ZDL PX 24, f. 22, also used in 'View of Sydney Harbour', 1835, DGXV*/Sp.Coll./Martens/4.
  A larger version, now in National Gallery of Victoria, 'View from Sandy Bay' was originally purchased by Robert Mackenzie on 15 Nov. 1836 for 12 guineas.
  'Sydney Cove', 1836 (V*/Sp.Coll./Martens/12), also commissioned by A.W. Scott, was purchased by the Library with this work from the Bury Art Galleries, London.
