  • General note

    CENEF (Church of England National Emergency Fund) opened a hut at St Andrews Cathedral in Feb 1940 for the welfare of troops and auxillary forces during World War 11. After the War, the fund continued to assist the rehabilitation of ex-servicemen and women, and as a diocesan youth centre, establishing headquarters at 201 Castlereagh Street in Oct 1947. The CENEF club for officers of the Women's Services at St Philip's Parish Hall, Church Hill was opened Aug 1944.
