The Anglican Board of Mission (Australia) was founded in Sydney in 1850. It is a mission agency of the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Australia and was formerly known as the Australian Board of Missions. It aims to meet the material, social and spiritual needs of indigenous communities in Australia and overseas. It engages not only in programs of evangelism and pastoral care, but also in projects that develop individuals and communities through health, education, agriculture and community development. -- Reference: ABM website.

The collection comprises approximately 285 items, mostly slide or filmstrip presentations, some with accompanying scripts and cassette tapes. Dates range from about 1950 to 1992, with most from the 1970s. The presentations are generally reports of activities in missions supported by the Anglican Board of Mission. Locations include Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Singapore, Malaysia, Melanesia, Polynesia, Burma, Japan, Borneo, Zambia, and missions to Aborigines in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
