    Philip Marks was born at London in 1778. He was tried at the Old Bailey, London, in 1822 and sentenced to life imprisonment. He was transported to Van Diemen's Land in 1824. Philip Marks was granted a Conditional Pardon in 1836 and a Full Pardon in 1840. He died at Hobart in 1864.
    Dorothy Nesbit is a descendent of Philip Marks and his wife Sarah.
