Thomas Jamison (1745-1811), surgeon, was born in England and educated at the University of Dublin. In 1786, he was appointed surgeon's mate of the Sirius, arriving in New South Wales in the First Fleet in January 1788. He worked on Norfolk Island until 1799. In 1802, he became surgeon-general of New South Wales. Jamison was granted 1000 acres on the Nepean in 1805 and also acquired farms at George's River and South Creek. After returning to England, he signed over his property in New South Wales to his son, Sir John Jamison, who came to the colony in 1814 to take it up. - Scope and ContentThe original will was made on 25 Jan. 1811. Thomas Jamison died in London on 27 Jan. 1811. The probate, dated 5 Feb. 1811, was entered in the Audit Office at Somerset Place on 7 Feb. 1811. This copy of the probate was attested on 12 Mar. 1811.
