Nicholas McBurney, 1841-1936, was born in County Armagh, Ireland, and emigrated to Australia as a young man. In 1899 he settled at Cabramatta, NSW, where he opened its first general store. He served on the first municipal council of the Cabramatta and Canley Vale district on its separation from Liverpool, and was active in the progress of the district. - System of arrangementTransferred from ML DOC 3649 September 1999
