  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    James Wiseman, itinerant shearer and Australian Workers' Union representative, married Ada Rymills in Goulburn on 17 December 1913. Their children, Avis, Vena, and Gaffney George were born in 1914, 1916 and 1918 respectively. James worked in shearing sheds all over New South Wales and was often away from Goulburn for long periods. Ada lived in Goulburn and worked mainly in hotels. When they were separated they wrote to each other every two or three days
