The Australian Sporting Car Club (ASCC) was formed in 1946 with the merger of the Light Car Club of New South Wales, established in 1930, and the New South Wales Sporting Car Club, established in 1945. The purpose of the club was to conduct motor sporting events in New South Wales, and to promote car racing and car rallies. Membership of the club reached a peak during the early 1980s with over 300 members.
Events were held at Marsden Park, Mt Druitt, Gnoo Blas near Orange, Nowra and Mt Panorama at Bathurst. The ASCC also organised three Redex Round Australia Trials in 1953, 1954 and 1955, and other round Australia trials during the 1950s and 1960s. The Southern Cross International Rallies were held from 1966 until 1980. Thereafter the club became less active. A small membership continued in the club until about 1990 though no major events were held. The Australian Sporting Car Club is no longer listed as a club.
