    William Lawson was born in 1804, son of Lieutenant William Lawson, explorer, and Sarah, nee Leadbeater. William Lawson married Caroline Icely, daughter of Thomas and Susanna Icely of Devonport, England in 1832. They lived at Macquarie Plains, Bathurst and Veteran Hall, Prospect, NSW. William and Caroline had three sons and five daughters. Their second daughter, Susannah Caroline Lawson married John Rendell Street in 1860. William Lawson died in 1861.

    Caroline Lawson was born in 1802, daughter of Thomas and Susanna Icely of Devonport, England. She married William Lawson in 1832 and they lived at Macquarie Plains, Bathurst and Veteran Hall, Prospect, NSW. She was the sister of Thomas Icely of Coombing Park, Carcoar, and Greystanes, Prospect, NSW. Caroline Lawson died in 1875.

    Sophia Rebecca Lawson was born in 1840, fifth daughter of William and Caroline Lawson. She married Edward Richard Deas Thompson (1840-1920), son of Sir Edward Deas Thompson (1800-1879). She died in 1916, having no issue.
