  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    The Aisling Society of Sydney was formed in 1954; the founders were Rev. Father Nicholas McNally, Brian McGrath, a Sydney barrister who drew up the constitution of the Society, and Mary Hegarty, a high school teacher. The objects of the Society are : the promotion of cultural relations between Australia and Ireland; the fostering of the study of the history, life and culture of Ireland; the study of the effect of Irish heritage on Australian life.
