    2. Autograph letter signed by Henry Moor, London, 10 Jan [1801], partly concerning the financial affairs of Thomas Fyshe Palmer
    3. Autograph letter signed by Robert Shepherdson, Canton, 30 Oct 1801, in which Shepherdson proposes a voyage with Bass to trade in skins, mentions that Bass learnt some Arabic in Bombay, and lists the books he has read since their meeting
    4. Autograph letter signed by Lieutenant William Kent, Buffalo, Spithead, 8 Jan 1802, before the Buffalo's departure for Port Jackson in Feb 1802. Kent comments on their mutual associates Charles Bishop, James Williamson and Philip Gidley King, and on Kent's uncle Governor John Hunter
    5. Autograph letter signed by George Bass, Venus, Sydney Cove, 5 Jan 1803, to James Sykes, his London agent, mainly concerning financial affairs
    6. Autograph letter signed by Matthew Flinders, Porpoise, Port Jackson, 8 Aug 1803. Flinders writes of his exploration of Torres Strait and the Gulf of Carpentaria in the Investigator and his confidence in his charting ability compared with the French. He mentions both their families and their mutual associates Charles Bishop, John Shortland and Governor King
  • General note

Letters received by George Bass from Sarah Bass, Elizabeth Bass and William Waterhouse have been placed with the papers of these three individuals because they were returned to the Waterhouse family after Bass' death and are more easily read in sequence with letters written by Sarah Bass, Elizabeth Bass and William Waterhouse.
