  • General note

    Series of photographs depicting land clearing procedure - "Mallee Rolling" - in 1926 by Charlie Hams. The roller was an improvised implement built by the settlers and drawn by a Hart Parr tractor. Paddocks required clearing and working over for a number of years before cropping. Mallee roots provided excellent fuel for stoves and open fires - "Curraview", Naradhan, NSW
