    George William (known as Bob) Lilley was born in Melbourne in 1918. He served in the Navy in World War II and for 36 years from 1947 worked as, initially, assistant to and then Registrar of Racehorses in Australia. He travelled widely, especially with his wife Jean following his retirement, and kept up a prolific correspondence with family and friends until his death on 22nd May 1998.

  • Scope and Content
    The collection comprises Bob Lilley’s writings, chiefly correspondence with family and friends around the world, and also includes autobiographical and other manuscripts.
