Pacific Colliery commissioned photography of this mine operation. The assignment included taking photographs of the underground mines with an unprotected flash bulb on a quarter plate Speed Graphic camera. This was a very dangerous procedure due to the possibility of explosive gas.
David Moore was employed at Max Dupain's studio from 1948-1951, when he left to pursue his career overseas, and again from 1958-1959. Moore left to further his career as a photojournalist -- Exhibition caption, 1997
