    James Marr Brydone (1779- ) grew up in Scotland and studied medicine at Edinburgh University. He was surgeon superintendent on the convict ship Eliza which reached Sydney in January, 1820. He sailed for England in September, 1820. Barbara Brydone Calder is his great grand-daughter
