  The sketches in the album are attributed to George Hamilton as the inside cover is inscribed `G. Hamilton' (though this appears to be a later hand). The sketches are stylistically similar to works that are known by George Hamilton.
  Many pages are blank and some sketches are unfinished. No dates or signature on works.
  
  The loose sketches that are contained within the album may not necessarily be `David Scott Mitchell' bequest items. Many of the loose sketches are not titled only some are dated and none of the works are signed.
