The first QueerLit Conference was held at the Writers Centre, Rozelle, from 30th July to 1st August, 1993. The Conference held thirteen panels and two solo sessions, the launch of Falling for Grace, reading sessions, and a plenary. Over three hundred people attended.

Over fifty papers were presented, and a collection of conference papers was published as A Cold Collation.

Susan Robbins was a member of the QueerLit Conference committee. She was employed by Pan MacMillan but was not representing them in her role as a committee member.
