  • Scope and Content
Jack Speering dance music ca. 1930-ca. 1977, consisting of original arrangements (manuscript musical scores) of dance music by various arrangers to suit Speering’s voice. Typically, these arrangements are in folders labeled by song title, or name of band instrument, and may include the printed or photocopied version of the song. These folders were probably used by dance band musicians during performances by Speering. The collection also includes commercial arrangements and a large quantity of commercial sheet music which has the ownership stamp of Jack Speering or his signature on the cover and are sometimes annotated with musical notes.
