    Francis Godolphin Bond was a son of William Bligh's half-sister Catherine. He sailed with Bligh on the second breadfruit voyage as first lieutenant of HMS Providence.
  • Scope and Content
    Autograph letter signed from Thomas Bond to his brother Francis Godolphin Bond then on board HMS Providence under the command of their uncle William Bligh. The letter was written shortly after the execution of three of the Bounty mutineers and gives news of the trial and subsequent events as well as contemporary developments in Europe (especially the French Revolution) and family news.
