    Serepta Lawrence married William Walter Samuel Hewson in 1921 and after a period farming in the Coonamble district they settled in Maroubra, Sydney. She was a singer and taught music, singing and elocution. Serepta was the original of John O'Brien's 'Laughing Mary Casey' [Around the Boree Log]; they had most likely met when she was a school girl in country NSW.
