Established in 1970 John Fisher and Clive Lucas, as Fisher Lucas, in 1977, Ian Stapleton joined the firm, and it was renamed Clive Lucas Stapleton & Partners. Sean Johnson joined as a partner in 2014 and the firm became known as Lucas Stapleton Johnson & Partners. Today (2024) the firm is led by Sean Johnson, architect and Kate Denny, heritage planner. Sydney-based, Lucas Stapleton Johnson & Partners Pty Ltd is one of Australia’s leading conservation and heritage architects, specialising in restoring, adapting, and adding to heritage buildings, as well as heritage assessment and conservation planning. They have won over 50 awards from the Australian Institute of Architects and have worked on many important NSW historic public, commercial and domestic buildings.
