    Judith Olive (Jude) Kuring (born 1948) is an Australian actress and writer who appeared in film and television during the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. She remains best known for her role as Noeline Bourke in episodes 30-132 of the television soap opera ‘Prisoner’ set in the Wentworth Detention Centre, a fictional women’s prison. The series was produced by the Reg Grundy Organisation and ran on Network Ten for 692 episodes from 27 February 1979 to 11 December 1986. Her film roles include ‘The Singer and the Dancer’, ‘Journey Among Women’, ‘Newsfront’, ‘The Journalist’, ‘Maybe This Time’ and ‘Prisoner Queen’.

    Kuring joined the Australian Performing Group during the early 1970s continuing an association till the mid 1980’s. She began television acting on the police drama ‘Homicide’ in 1971, then took a minor role in the 1975 television movie ‘They Don’t Clap Losers’ and later appeared on the television series ‘Alvin Purple’ and in comedy shows including ‘Wollongong the Brave’, ‘The Gary McDonald Show’, and ‘The Off Show’. After guest appearing on ‘Waterloo Station’ in 1983, Kuring moved away from acting, later returning to play a prominent role in the movie ‘Prisoner Queen’ which centered on an obsessed fan of the ‘Prisoner’ television series.
