The Australian Women Pilots' Association was formed in 1950. It is organised on a statewide basis, with a national executive committee and aims to promote women's involvement in aviation from aero clubs to airlines by encouraging women to gain flying licenses, by maintaining pilot networks where women in aviation can meet and exchange information and by promoting training, employment and careers in aviation.
