Beverley Weynton was secretary to the manager of Curtis Brown (Aust) Ltd, literary agents.
Xavier Herbert was born in Geraldton, W.A. in 1901. Between 1937 and 1975 he published six books including the novels Capricornia (1937) and Poor fellow, my country (1975) and an autobiography Disturbing element (1963). He died in 1984
