    Peter Hopegood was born in England in 1891 and came to Australia in 1924. After working on a pearling lugger and as a jackeroo he became a journalist and free-lance writer, publishing four books of poems between 1932 and 1964. He died in 1967.
    Tom Inglis Moore was born in Camden, NSW in 1901. After service in World War 2 he joined the Canberra University College (later ANU) where he remained until his retirement in 1966. He published three books of poems as well as a novel and much literary criticism. He died in 1978.

    Three letters dated 30 October 1946, 18 February 1949 and 23 January 1950. Also includes a brief note to Hopegood, 1 October 1948, froom an unknown correspondent.
