The Newcastle Bushwalking Club Inc. was founded in 1945 as The Newcastle Technical College Bushwalking and Alpine Club in 1945. Its present name dates from 1993. Its original aims were to organise bushwalking and allied activities within the college, however membership has never been restricted in any way.
