  The preliminary pencil drawing by Conrad Martens for the watercolour is located at ZPXC 970, f. 9, Mitchell Library: 'Werrington Augst. 25/37' (titled in pencil lower right in the artist's hand; 'Wellington' [sic] inscribed beneath the title in another hand). Reproduced, with reference notes, in Sotheby's Fine Australian and European Paintings Sale, Melbourne, 19 August 1996, lot 201. Listed in Account of Pictures painted at Sydney N.S.Wales / Conrad Martens: 'Sept 27. [1837] View Werrington Cap. P.P. King 6.6 [guineas] paid [sent to] E[ngland]'.
