  • Scope and Content
    Contains photographs, etchings & architectural drawings of Burdekin House, including facade, interiors and plans of proposed billiard room. Portraits of Sydney Burdekin as Mayor of Sydney, 1890-91. Views of other buildings, including the building conversion of "Burdekin Square" Crown St. terraces; S.C.E.G.S (Shore School); cartes de visite of Stone House, Wilberforce, built 1817. A watercolour drawing of Stone House, Hawkesbury N.S.W. / by "S. B. 1862"

    Sydney photographers include: American & Australasian Photographic Company, 324 George St; Australian Photographic Company, 209 Castlereagh St; Hall & Co, 44 Hunter St; Praeger Empire Studios, George St; Milton Kent, Sydney; and Cameron Photo, Maitland, N.S.W.

    Collection also contains a carte de visite photograph of H.M.S. Galatea, ship of H.R.H. Duke of Edinburgh, 1867. A lithographic portrait of Baron Ferd. von Mueller presented to Sydney Burdekin 1896 for his most generous support of Dr Leichhardt's expeditions. Scene of S.S. River Burdekin and postcards of Barracluff's Ostrich Farm, South Head, N.S.W.
