    Peter de Waal AM, gay activist, author and campaigner for gay and lesbian social justice and equality. Among de Waal's publications are Oppression upon reflection 1974 (with Michael Clohesy, 1975), The 1976 Tribunal on Homosexuals and Discrimination and its 1994 review (1996), Lesbians and gays changed Australian immigration: history and herstory (2002), and Unfit for publication: NSW Supreme Court and other bestiality, buggery and sodomy trials 1727-1930 (2007).
