Sir George Grey led several expeditions into North West Australia in search of a site for settlement in the late 1830s. He later became Governor of South Australia, New Zealand and the Cape Colony. The author, Rhoda Scott, devoted thirty years of research to this biography, which grew out of research for her history of Carnarvon, Western Australia, titled A Town Grows (1967). - Name
