  • Scope and Content
    Notes on the identity of some of the Treasury officers (provided by Mr J. Howard, Chief Clerk, The Treasury, 1967):

    In the 2nd front row the gentleman in the white waistcoat and the white soft hat (4th from left) is Mr Arthur Pattrick Pearson later Under Secretary, The Treasury, from 12th February, 1921 to 3rd April, 1923.

    The second from the left in the front row, the gentleman with his right hand in his trouser pocket with his left hand across his stomach, is Mr Frank Davies, later Consolidated Revenue Receipts Ledgerkeeper.

    The first two on the left in the third row wearing straw hats are respectively, Mr Robert John Colvin, later Chief Accountant, The Treasury and then Director of State Lotteries, and Mr Alfred Josiah Kimberley Hurcombe, later Officer-in-Charge, Alienation Section, Crown Land Accounts, Revenue Branch, The Treasury.

    Immediately behind them the man with the pipe in his left hand and the walking stick in his right is Mr Herbert Alexander of Gardyne Macpherson, who was said to be some relation of his namesake who was a partner in the now defunct firm of Holdsworth Macpherson.
