  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Records of Friends of the Laperouse Museum established in 1989, formerly the Laperouse Association for the Australian Bicentenary, founded in 1984, accumulated by Mr. Pierre Roussel, who with the assistance of his wife, Mrs. Carol Roussel, and members of the French community in Sydney, was responsible for the project which established the Laperouse Museum in the former Cable Station at Laperouse, Botany Bay, as a gift of the Government of France in commemoration of the Australian Bicentenary in 1988. Dr Peter Orlovich, committee member of Friends of the Laperouse Museum, completed a detailed contents list of this collection in 2001.
