Textual Records - (typescript) - Scope and ContentA brief autobiography of Kenneth Poole, born in England in 1905, who sailed for Australia in 1923 under the Dreadnought Scheme. This allowed for unemployed British youth to make a fresh start in a young country. Once here, they were trained in agricultural methods and employed by local farmers. Poole worked on farms until 1926 and then travelled around rural New South Wales, picking up work where he could. He settled in Lismore in the thirties and started a successful building business.
