    DG D38/1 - "Christmas bush" - is stylistically very similar to a drawing "The Cumberland Tree..." by an unknown artist, which is bound into a volume of 1790s Norfolk Island botanical illustrations : Dixson Library ref. DL PXX 1/39
    Another version of DG D38/1 "Christmas bush" is in the Watling Collection (no.446), Natural History Museum, London
    These drawings were purchased from the Longueville Collection, who purchased them in 1985, from a London dealer. The dealer acquired them from a Bonham's London auction in the late 1970s. It has not proved possible to trace provenance back further than this.

    All inscriptions are contemporary and are in ink, written over now faint pencil inscriptions. The pencil inscriptions appear to be the same as the ink
