    Frank McPhillips was born in Wagga in 1913. He played fullback for the Drummoyne Rugby Football Club. In 1933, with only two seasons experience of senior rugby, he was selected in the first Australian team (the Wallabies) to tour South Africa.

Includes photographs; letter dated 15 Dec. 1932 from the NSW Rugby Union advising McPhillips of his selection in the Australian team to tour South Africa; a booklet of autographed caricatures of the Wallabies; program for the 5th test match (Australia v South Africa) autographed by both sides; booklet titled A passing cheer for the Aussies of the Second World War by Ethel Campbell.
