    Menevia, Ballast Point, mid right hand side
    1844 -1852 Ballast Point leased to George Cooper of Balmain for use as a quarry and ship's ballast storage.
    1852 -1893 Ballast Point purchased by clothing merchant Thomas Perkins, who builds large 2-storey private home -- "Menevia". From 1867, the southern half of the Point is reclaimed and seawall constructed.
    1893 - 1928 "Menevia" is leased as a boarding house, and slowly falls into disrepair.
    1928 - 1999 "Menevia" demolished. Texaco purchases site for oil terminal and grease plant, and cuts series of "steps" into rock face for tanks.
    1999 Oil operations cease.
    2002 NSW Government acquires Ballast Point for $24M, for use as a public park (while retaining existing maritime refuelling facility.)
