  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Frederick Peppin (1828-1911), together with his father and brother, purchased South Wanganella Station in the Riverina district in 1858. They acquired the neighbouring properties of Morago and Boonoke, ca. 1866. Peppin & Sons were sheep farmers whose sheep stock is still present in major breeds in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and South America.

    "Log cabin built by Fred Peppin after he bought Boonoke and before the homestead was built. The original photograph is the property of Mrs Raymond Laurie, Old Well House, Hazelgrove, Hindhead, Surrey, daughter of Mrs Morgan Jones Snr. of Oxley Station, New South Wales, whose Aunt was Fred Peppin's wife, Dr. Morgan's daughter"
