  • General note

" `Mothers' memories, others' memories' was a participation project which focused on the lives of women. It has become a model in Australia for Artist-In-Community projects especially those including oral history with the visual arts.
Participants collected together memories and memorabilia of women who were close to them for display and/or future safe keeping.
The technique of photographic silk screen printing in enamel on steel plates was taught and became the medium of an art work presented by the participants to the people of Blacktown. A similar work was bought by the Australian National Gallery in Canberra." -- Introduction
