The text surrounding the image is from the sonnet `Australia' (1890) by Bernard O'Dowd
Based on the tapestry designed by Martin Sharp, woven at the Victorian Tapestry Workshop , Melbourne and presented to the State Library of New South Wales by Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bain, 1987. The tapestry hangs in the foyer of the Macquarie Street Building.
A postcard of the tapestry (PC 133) has been published by the State Library and is available from The Library Shop.
