Lot 27 of the Sotheby, Wilkinson & Hodge 2 Feb. 1914 sale "Catalogue of ... valuable manuscripts .. by or relating to Major-General Lachlan Macquarie" (QA 923.59/M Mitchell Library) describes "Drawings of Tippahee, a Chief of New Zealand [SV*/MAO/PORT/14]; Ca la watnin Ba, a Native of the Coal River [P2/425]; Aborigines of Van Diemen's Land and others of Australian Natives...". It is possible that Mr Clark is one of these drawings, as it is by the same artist as Ca la watum Ba and was originally mounted with it.
