    Presented by Jane Maria Hall to Anna Josepha King, 1832. Thence to Elizabeth King, nee Macarthur (granddaughter of Anna Josepha King; daughter of Hannibal Macarthur and Anna Maria King; wife of Philip Gidley King the younger). Thence to Elizabeth Maria (Bessie) Goldfinch, nee King (daughter of Elizabeth and Philip Gidley King the younger; mother of Sir Philip Henry Macarthur Goldfinch).
  • Scope and Content
    Album in dark green morocco binding with elaborate blind embossed decorations on front cover; back cover missing, front cover detached, spine and stitching loose. Gold lettering on spine: 'Album'; 'De La Rue & Co.'. Moire silk patterned endpapers, coloured pages throughout, a few with decorative printed borders.

    The English contributions are by members of the Hall and Campbell families, mostly dated ca. 1832 before the return of Anna Josepha King to New South Wales. The Australian contributions are mostly be members of the King and (Hannibal) Macarthur families, or relatives by marriage. Many items date from 1849-1851 when some of the family members were at Gladfield, or nearby stations such as Goomburra, on the Darling Downs. There are also items added at Stroud, Tahlee, Manar and Ellerslie (the last two in southern New South Wales).
