Samuel Lipson trained at the Glasgow School of Arts. Upon his arrival in Sydney in 1925 he commenced work with the Department of Public Works. In 1932 he started his own private practice, and began teaching at the Sydney Technical College. During the 1930's Peter Kaad joined the practice and together they produced buildings such as the Hastings Deering Car Service Station and the Hoffnung Building. -- Reference : A Guide to Sydney Architecture/ Graham Jahn.
